The Soviet Army carbine Mosin M44 in caliber 7.62x54R. The Soviet Army carbine Mosin M44 was developed as a replacement for the original bolt-action rifle Mosin-Nagant Model 1891/30. The carbine was produced until 1948 and was used by the Soviet Army during World War II and later in the Korean War.
The Mosin M44 carbine was designed with the aim of reducing the overall length of the weapon, making it much more maneuverable for soldiers in confined combat conditions and on horseback. This was achieved by shortening the barrel by 60 mm and reducing the length of the stock. The carbine also introduced a new feature, which was a detachable magazine, allowing for faster magazine changes in combat. In 1944, it was additionally equipped with a non-removable folding bayonet and received the designation carbine model 1944. The Mosin M44 carbine has become popular among collectors and hunting enthusiasts due to its history and simplicity of design.
